I am a mixed media artist living in Knoxville, Tennessee. Almost all of my work is inspired by the outside world including florals, landscapes, urban sketching and the beauty found in the mountains of East Tennessee and places I travel to with my husband.
My art often includes vivid color and strong contrasts to evoke the joy I felt when experiencing a hike, flowers in my garden or a walk around the city. I also employ a great deal of texture in most of my pieces to provide depth and interest.
I started exploring art in 2013 as a way to use my brain differently than I did in my career. I had never had any formal training so I began to search out art classes in my community. While on vacation here in the Smoky Mountains a dear friend taught me how to paint. My very first project was a sweet little frog and he proudly resides in a sunny window in my studio. Over the past several years I have taken many classes to develop my art practice.
My motto is “Live a life you love”. Prior to moving to the Smoky Mountains in 2016 my husband and I were working in high pressure careers and had not created balance in our lives. We made a radical decision to move south, downsize our life and truly live in joy, exploring our passions! We spend a lot of our time working in our gardens and hiking in the mountains with our Bernedoodle Bo.
My very first project in 2013.

My wish is to stay always like this, living quietly in a corner of nature. ~~Claude Monet
